Personal Experience
My kids were thrilled when I brought this home in my Ford Focus. (Try that with a big screen TV!) The best feature is the portability: You can watch a movie anywhere there's a flat wall. I was very impressed with the image quality and the price is unbeatable for the screen size. Right now, I have it set up in the basment, connected to the cable box about 16ft back from the wall with no screen. Although the image at that distance is pretty grainy, my kids won't let me move it. They absolutely love the theater effect.

Problems
So far, I've had no problems, however, since we are using it as a TV, I'm a little concerned about the lamp life. Replacement lamps run $250 to $300. Ouch!
