| I have owned a Hitachi CP-S845 3 chip lcd since 2001. Shortly thereafter I discovered this website and started the exhaustive search for its replacement. Not that the old Hitachi was bad but is was getting old and started to shift it's color towards the green, and so it began. The guys here at projector central and all it's readers really helped me finally decide on this wonderful LCOS Canon SX-60. It projects onto a custom screen of Roscoe Ultra-Matte White on a wall, and is 16 ft diagonal. HD and upconverted material is simply stunning and no screendoor at all. I have digital cable and this pj is so good I had to rewire the entire house. It showed just how bad the signal really was. Now it's precision perfect. The very first thing I watched was Episode III upconverted to 1080I and I must say I saw details that I didn't even see in the theatrical premiere and that was projected on a 3 chip dlp christie. In short this pj is nothing short of phenomnal. One aside though I know there are people who spend 5 times or more than I did on a projector and this one's MSRP is 6000.00 something I thought I would never do. But I can say I only paid 4195.00 and had it overnighted for a total of 4375.00 and now I firmly believe it was well worth the price. It is just as good as the 10,000.00 sony. I took it to my local mom and pop home theater dive and compared it side by side and there was very little difference other than about 6000 grand. Do yourself a favor go see this one in action. If you do you will want to go home with it! |
