| just an update for other owners...I'm at ~400 hours on my new bulb. after 2nd bulb blew benq had me send the unit back, upgraded the firmware and replaced the bulb. the tech support guy told me that the firmware upgrade seems to work as he hadnt seen any units come back after upgrade. i decided to run it on econo mode (slightly less bright), and switched to the high altitude setting (takes effect after restart), which runs the fan at higher speed for better cooling, but a bit noisy. oh well. if you increase the brightness, contrast and color a couple of ticks, it nmore or less gives the same image quality as running at full brightness. one poster said he couldnt get service from benq as no receipt. i suggest contacting the seller for a replacement one, and asking to talk to the manager of the tech support person if you dont get good service. personally i found the 3 tech guys i talked with to be very helpful. i try to remember its not the tech support guys fault the product is defective, so dont take it out on them. hope this helps. |
