Personal Experience
This is by far and away the greatest purchase of my life. I researched HD projectors quite heavily, and finally decided to give this one a go. I was a bit nervous about spending that kind of a money without ever having seen it in person, but needless to say - it surpassed my wildest expectations (and believe me, I had high expectations going in).

About 4 months ago I bought a refurbished unit from saveonprojectors.com along with an extended warranty and additional bulb replacement from Mack Camera, all for $1498 door to door. Elina at saveonprojectors.com was awesome, and she even threw in the Blockbuster rental card to sweeten the deal. I imagine the prices have come down even farther now, and I can honestly say that I don't know why anyone would ever buy a television ever again (if you have the room for a projector).

Right out of the box it was amazing - easy to adjust both the size and focus, as well as the image angle. Had it projecting onto a blank wall in the basement for the first few weeks, and even that was utterly astonishing. Everytime someone has seen it for the first time - they ALWAYS say, 'Oh my god...' and their jaws drop to the floor. It is beyond phenomenal.

I eventually got a 110" EluneVision pulldown screen from some guys in Canada for about $120 door to door, and attached it to some rafters in the ceiling with some 2X4s, some eyebolts, and S--hooks. Also installed the projector into the ceiling with a mount I got off Ebay - all in all set-up took about 4 hours. But like I said, it also worked great just projecting it onto the wall while it sat on a table between couches/chairs.

I haven't seen any other projectors, so I can't really compare the picture quality to others - but I can't imagine it could be much (if any) better. Standard definition is of course mediocre, but HD movies/TV shows (particularly sports) are utterly astounding. I also have my computer hooked up to it along with a wireless mouse/keyboard and am typing this on a 110" screen. It is AWESOME. I'll probably watch some more Star Wars in Cinemax HD when I'm done with this review...

Bulb now has 367 hours on it and I have had absolutely no problems whatsoever. Powers up in about 5 seconds, and reaches full brightness in under 30 seconds. I keep it on low lamp mode, but I do have it in a basement where I have complete control of the ambient light. It still looks great with most of the lights fully on though, except those bulbs that are directly in from of the screen.

I read all the reviews on this site (as well as others), and they were a big help. Just wanted to write as much as as I could about it, as a thank you for all the help I got and to reassure others like when I was considering it.

I don't know if other projectors out there are better, though I really can't imagine they could be. Again, I can't recommend this highly enough - I'm still absolutely amazed by it to this day, and so is anyone else who has ever seen it.

I predict that - eventually - HD projectors will be as common in households throughout the country as computers. Anyone who has seen this one, immediately wants their own in less than a minute.

Problems
Nada - none whatsoever.
