Personal Experience
Similar experience to all the other contributors here. Great looks, shame about the performance. We did have about 12 of these within a college environment but, given the lamp problems, are in the process of replacing LP500s with Sanyo PLC-XU units. Sanyos work fine and appear to be reliable compared to the InFocus. InFocus lamps blowing anything from 35 to 250 hours is normal. Never even seen a unit approaching the expected lamp life of 2000 hours.

Problems
Lamps blowing, returning units to InFocus in Netherlands for the 'upgrade process'. Returned paperwork looks like the guts are completely replaced and only the cover is original! Even after upgrade, lamps barely last > 200-300 hours if lucky. Lamps costing between 200-250 UKP so we cut our losses and now purchase Sanyo.
