Cable box is hooked up via HDMI - the HD picture is truly incredible at 110". I can't say enough about it - everyone that sees it is amazed! Regular digital channels (HBO, Starz, etc) look fine at that size, no complaints. It is really to watch anything else though after watching a 110" HD signal coming from this projector (Discovery HD is breathtaking!) DVD is hooked up through component. Its a little better than the digital cable movie channels, looks very good. There are many options for adjusting colors - more than i even want to deal with. Easy to hook up and start watching right away. Highly recommended for your first projector or if you just want to switch to native 16x9, 720p projector.

Problems
In shows that have alot of darks and brights in the same scenes the Image AI gets a bit confused. You can see the pic changing brightness back and forth - not a big distraction but something i have noticed. The only thing bad that happened was the fan stayed on once after i turned it off - it was on all night, i walked upstairs while it was shutting down and didn't notice it until morning. It didn't hurt anything (that i know of) i just had to unplug the system and plug it back in and it was fine.
