BenQ's new inexpensive home theater projectors, the W1100 and W1200, come in under $1500, so if you want good 1080p for not a lot of money, these are worthy of a close look...
We've just posted Bill's BenQ W1100 and W1200 review.
There are now quite a few 1080p home theater projectors under $1500. In addition to the BenQ units, there are the Epson 8350 and its predecessor the 8100 which is still on the market at $999. Also there is the hot Mitsubishi HC4000, and of course BenQ's W1000+. Then we've got the popular Optoma HD20, and the Vivitek H1081. The Acer H7531D also comes in under $1000.
Time for a shootout of the low priced models. We are assembling inventory for this shootout. It will take a few weeks to compile, but that is high on our editorial priority list at the moment.
Meanwhile, the premium class Sony VPL-VW90ES 3-D 1080p home theater projector is currently here and under review. Assuming all goes according to plan, that review will be up by end of next week.
