BenQ HT1075 User Reviews

Write a ReviewBrightness and contrast were really great for the price but the rainbow artifacts were just too obvious to keep the projector. I'm sensitive to this but this observation was confirmed by a couple people who saw the image. Build quality and usability were fine. I obviously have no idea about reliability so I rated it excellent.
Any Problems: Rainbow artifacts
Color bright, crisp. Low noise, low light leakage. Now for the reality. This is a POS! Opened the box, mounted on ceiling, plugged in and turned it on. Awesome colors, good focus. After about 6 months of light use, the unit started shutting off after about 10 mins. Seems it has a heat problem. Checked on line and almost everyone experiences the same issue. My wife didn't tell me about it until just after the 1 year warranty expired. Now I'm stuck with a several hundred $ paper weight. Don't buy one!!!
Any Problems: Over heats in a few minutes and shuts off. Seems typical of this model according to on line feed back.
I have owned several digital projectors used for home theater since 2000. I started with a S-VGA resolution, then XGA, several 720P projectors and finally a refurbished BenQ HT1075 1080P. I am always a little leery of anything refurbished but since is was directly from BenQ AND had a full warranty as if new - I thought it would be a great deal at $550!!! It was!!! This projector has the best image of any I have had so far! Bright, wonderful contrast, and amazing resolution! For home entertainment on a budget this is an amazing deal! I have an inexpensive 100"diagonal screen bought on Amazon. One nice feature is that this projector will produce that 100" picture from about 9 feet away, not as far away as others projectors need so it accommodates a smaller space more easily! I highly recommend this projector especially at it refurbished price!
Any Problems: None. so far...
