While the projector is sharp and clear when it is operating successfully, the thing is a bulb hog.
Any Problems: The first buld barely made 500 hours and the second one is shot at 220 hours. Whether it is our projector or this line i don't know. But for $2500 we expected more then this.
Auto detects input = great feature! Bright! Daylight viewable no problem. Sturdy. Little noisey if sitting close by... just crank up the movie volume! Not manufactured anymore just means you get more for your $$
For the money I paid for this projector you can't go wrong I have it in my 400sqf. living room shooting about 19-20 feet on a 100 inch. screen the picture is great but there is a screen door image if you set to close to the screen color is bright and clear on ps2 and xbox dvds look smooth and clean If you have the money grab this projector you will be very happy I paid about 1,100 for it and the screen set me back another 900.00 but will worth the money!
Any Problems: 1. screen door image if closer then 6 feet from the screen 2. No tilt to move the lens up or down
Thanks to the projectorcentral, I reviewed a couple of models for our home-theatre. I might use it rarely for powerpoint, but mainly entertainment. This model seemed to have what I was looking as brightness, contrast, connectors and noise. So, I've tried it in all possible modes, and here is my result: - Excellent menu. Simple and powerfull, operates like a regular computer display. - Very quiet. While exploring the menu, I was very surprised to find an economy mode, which did not reduce light too much (probably 12%) but made the projector even more quieter (I believe down to 32dB - as full throttle was rated at 34 dB). Big issue for us. It also has a 3W speaker, which helps if you really want to have no noise at all - maybe add the movie sound there (has bass and trebble controls). - A BIG PLUS - it comes with all possible cables !!! Connectors were the ones I expected: SVideo, Component (good idea to use RCAs), video, audio and RGB. It has USB for controls. - Now the image: Good contrast, excellent image quality, I did not notice much rainbow effect. Worked well even when was interpolating my laptop 1024x768 to the native VGA, which will help my presentations. As expected, works best with darker rooms. Best movie quality when using YCrCb inputs or SVideo. By design, it uses a 250W lamp to generate the same light as others using 200W. I gave GOOD to the reliability because although it has an ECONOMY mode, the lamp counter did not change, although the noise and heat are less, therefore made me believe the lamp may last longe. Lamps are quite expensive. Warranty is 3 years majors, within 1 year Benq exchanges with a new one. OVERALL: Very good value for the money.
Any Problems: None so far.
Excellent value for money. I bought this beamer for $1500. Colors are good, overall image quality is good. It is bright, looks good and not expensive.
Any Problems: a little rainbow.
