In addition to the new EpiqVision Ultra LS800 announced at CEDIA, Epson has launched the new EpiqVision Flex line with two new inexpensive portable projectors, the EpiqVision Flex CO-W01 and the EpiqVision Flex CO-FH02, for hybrid work and home environments. Both use Epson's 3-chip 3LCD technology for equal color and white brightness (as well as no rainbow effect) and their lamp light source is capable of 3,000 ISO lumens—an impressive amount for portable projectors that weigh less than 6 pounds. The 188-watt ultra-high efficiency bulb lasts up to 6,000 hours in High power or 12,000 hours in ECO.
The CO-FH02 projector has a native 1080p (1920x1080) resolution with a throw ratio range of 1.19-1.61:1 and can display an image up to a 300-inch diagonal (for accurate throw distance measurements, check ProjectorCentral's Epson EpiqVision Flex CO-FH02 Throw Distance Calculator). It is also a smart projector that includes Android TV OS with the ability to stream from Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Disney+, HBO Max, Hulu, and more. Through the OS, the projector supports Google Assistant and Chromecast from compatible devices.
The CO-W01, on the other hand, is WXGA (1280x800) native resolution without the smart capabilities included. Both projectors have manual focus and 1.0-1.35 digital zoom (no optical zoom for these). Both also offer vertical and horizontal keystone correction (but no lens shift). They have a single HDMI input, USB Type-A for power, and USB Type-B for service. Including the feet, the FH02 measures 8.3x12.5x3.4 inches (HWD) while the W01 is slightly smaller at 8.3x11.6x3.4 inches (HWD). They both weigh under six pounds—5.7 pounds for the FH02 and 5.3 for the W01.
The FH02 is $630 and the W01 is $430. They come with a 1-year limited warranty and are available now.
