Write a Reviewoverall a good projector but cant update software. Good for the kidds to watch movies or the guys to watch the footy via a set top box
Any Problems: Cant update software at all
The projector has an "out of the box" image that is quite watchable. It tends to have a red that is over saturated, but that can be tamed with adjustment. The settings hold for each input when reselected and makes it convenient for switching from HDMI input to input from a PC either via the VGA input or second HDMI input. Inputs are also supported from component video and composite, although not HD in the case of component. As each input is changed, even between stations from a cable box, the resolution and frame rate are shown (e.g.1080/60, 1080/24, or even 460/60). Because of contrast ratio of less than brightness, this projector is fine for watching sports with ambient light, including open windows without direct sunlight.
Any Problems: It is noisier (35 dBA at a meter) than advertised. It is a fixed throw with no optical zoom. It has a vertical adjustment for keystone, but there is a distortion of focus at the top or bottom if taken to extremes, so it is best that this projector be at screen center. It has a digital zoom, but wastes pixels. While advertised as 4500 lumens, it measured at 4200. Contrast ratio approaches 3000. While fine for regular TV, movies with dark scenes will present difficulty in viewing.
