Random Power-Off Issues on several we have. Good Color, Remote is weak and get's weaker with age regardless of batteries. Shorter throw than most is a plus. Fast power up. Other than the above listed issues, this projector appears fairly consistent over the years. InFocus support isn't much help.

Any Problems: Randomly powers off, Remote transmitter is weak.

We use at least a dozen of these LP290 InFocus projectors here. Generally the provide an easy, portable and good enough image resolution and brightness for our applications.

Any Problems: We predominanly use them for teaching in a K-12 private school, though several of our users have reported 'blue dot' problems, occasions of the projector "all of a sudden" turning itself off for "no apparent reason", despite the fact that the software on the projectors is the lastest (as of 11/11/2004) at 1.26.

Bought an LP290 for home. at 2000 hrs bulb life got a blue spot on screen. Took in and was told the engine was gone and would be 2800.00 to fix. Tech was great and called infocus as it was just out of warranty. Tech said infocus had put out a software upgrade to correct a heating problem that caused engines to go over time.

Any Problems: Called infocus and was told i should have upgraded the software but never received a notice from infocus. They admitted a problem but said the projector was out of warranty and they would do nothing. hmmmmm projector was good my problem was with infocus..knowing there was a problem and doing nothing..BTW it was a month over 2 years. they told me the 2 years started when it left the factory. Anyone need a bulb for an LP290

It has worked very well under the first year of use. However, recently it has got some miscoloration to the picture.... Bad lamp or polarization problem?

We have tried to sell this model but they constantly give problems. Back-up service is slow.

Any Problems: Power supply, lamp and polarizer problems

Lightweight, decent image quality.

Any Problems: Infrared receiver on unit is too weak and does not pick up signals from the remote control when using the projector in a room with fluorescent lighting. InFocus knows this is a problem, but continues to ship the units with the defective receiver. I would not recommend this unit if you use fluorescent lighting in your conference rooms.
