Owned projector since April 2004 and have about 200 hours on it. I use video and component inputs with no problem. Progressive scan is used with DVD's
Any Problems: Unit arrived with image problems right out of the box. JVC service repaired the problem without any hassle. It is my understanding that part of the main mother board was replaced and has been operating fine ever since. Apparently, it was manufactured with this defective part and not caught in final checkout.
The image projected by this projector gives one a feeling of watching a huge lcd monitor. Crystal clear especially with HDTV and very vivid colors and uniform brightness. Black levels are not the best but the settings can be tweaked to compensate for that. Best projector for the money. I am surprised JVC is not doing more to market this.
I have seen them all...and this one wins my heart. An amazing resolution and sharpness on particular component HD and video signals. If you are planning to feed it composite video...buy a cheaper projector!
Any Problems: Not the best projector when it comes to black... remember to buy a grey screen for better contrast!
In my opinion the best digital projector outthere. Very good and natural color. Even at one feet no screendoor.(width 2,5 mtr) Unbeliefabel light power even though only rated at 1500 ansi. Black and greyscale truly accurate. Also saw a Marantz 12 s2 ,this one had a tad bit better contrast, but much less lightpower and shadowdetail. So I bought the Jvc.
Any Problems: If you want the sharpest picture with this one be sure to feed it component interlaced with dist switcht to on. It will be sharper then dvi via brainwavedvdplayer! If you really want to let it to drop your jaws any time(i,ve got mine taped around my head): Feed it 1400*1050 via powerstrip and ht pc. You will see the sharpest picture ever. Greetz : Coen.
Very good projector in most respects
Any Problems: Simply not sharp, and this conclusion was made after testing 3 brand new projectors. Even a Sony I have which is a few yearas old, and 25% of the price is very much sharper, particularly noticeable in all text.
saw unit at Cedia last week. Better than the new DLP mustang units
