Christie Digital Systems has announced the new Inspire Series of 1DLP laser projectors, comprised of four different models. The DWU760-iS (which comes in a TAA-Compliant version, the DWU760A-iS), DWU860-iS, DWU960-iS, and short-throw DWU960ST-iS use a 0.67-inch DMD chip and high-efficiency blue laser phosphor that will last up to 20,000 hours before reaching half brightness. The IP5X dust-resistant laser light engine outputs 6,000 ANSI lumens (760-iS), 7,200 ANSI lumens (860-iS), or 8,100 ANSI lumens (960-iS and 960ST-iS).
All of the projectors have a 16:10 WUXGA (1920x1200) native resolution. The standard throw projectors have a 1.25-2.0:1 throw ratio and 1.6x zoom. The short-throw DWU960ST-iS has a throw ratio of 0.65-0.75:1 and 1.1x zoom. You can determine which projector is best for your space by using the ProjectorCentral Projection Calculator for either the standard-throw versions (760-iS, 860-iS, and 960-iS), or the short-throw 960ST-iS.

Built in to the projectors is Christie Twist, their manual warping and blending technology that supports up to six arrayed projectors and 81 grid control points. If more supported projectors or grid points are necessary, Twist can be upgraded to Twist Premium or Twist Pro. For automated camera-based alignment of up to three projectors, Christie Mystique Lite is available as a free download. The projectors can be installed in any orientation.
The Inspire Series projectors have HDMI 2.0 and HDMI 1.4a inputs, HDMI out, HDBaseT, 3D Sync BNC in/out, VGA in, USB, 3.5mm audio in/out, and an IR receiver in. They are 5.7 x 16 x 18.9 inches (HWD) and weigh 30.2 pounds (except for the 760-iS that is 29.8 pounds). All come with a 3-year part and labor warranty and 3-year or 20,000 hours parts and labor on the illumination system.
The Inspire Series will be available in August 2021.
