Optoma has just announced the release of the ZW403 and ZH403, two new projectors aimed at the K-12 education market. These high-brightness laser models projectors are compact and light to allow for easy portability and little maintenance.
Both projectors use Optoma's DuraCore laser technology — found in all of their laser projectors from the entry-level ZW502 to the flagship ZK1050. The DuraCore laser was developed with a dust-resistant design to eliminate the need of filter replacement. The ZW403 and ZH403 are both rated IP6X, which is classified as 'Dust Tight,' so their optical engine is completely protected against dust contact. While running in Eco mode, the light source should last up to 30,000 hours.

Input resolutions up to 4K UHD are supported over HDMI 2.0 (HDCP 2.2, MHL) and displayed at the projectors native resolution. The ZW403 is a 16:10 WXGA (1280 x 800) projector, useful for computer and tablet applications. The ZH403 has a native resolution of 1080p (1920 x 1080). Both projectors are HDR10 and HLG compatible. ANSI Lumens lutput is up to 4,500 for the ZW403 and 4,000 for the ZH403; each has a rated contrast ratio up to 300,000:1 with Extreme Black processing enabled, ensuring that projected images can be seen in classrooms or meeting rooms that need to have their lights on.
In addition to the compact and light size — 13.26 x 4.25 x 10.5 inches and only 9.4 pounds — the projectors' 1.3x optical and 0.8 - 2x digital zoom, keystone and four-corner correction, and 360-degree portrait mode operation allows for flexibility of placement, be it for temporary or permanent installation. Control with Crestron, Extron, AMX, or Telnet is possible over LAN and RS-232. Both have stereo 10W speakers for audio playback.
