I've had this projector for a few months. Very happy with performance for the price. I paid $460 and wouldn't expect much better performance for less than $1000. Certainly watchable on 120 inch screen in dim light. Very good in dark conditions. I've had no issues with fan noise but I'm running audio through separate speakers. The built in speaker on the projector is functional but the sound is reminiscent of an AM transistor radio. I never intended to use the built in speaker anyway. I do wish it had a digital audio output so one could run surround sound from the projector to a stereo receiver. It doesn't but the sound quality from the audio out jack is quite acceptable through my receiver. Very happy customer!
Rainbows and low light
Any Problems: Normal DLP problems with rainbow. Light performance is low at best. Dynamic black pumps fan high and low, you can not watch movies with alternating noise. No lens shift at all. Zoom is useless. Impossible to get full image into focus. Poor optics. Colors are flat and not rich at all. No real life usage even for free.
Brilliant display. Using at 105 inches and it is as crystal clear as an HD TV. Almost no visible pixilation and very bright, even at the Economy plus setting. For the price I paid vs other projectors definitely worth the purchase. Menus are also very user friendly.
