Panasonic has officially announced the pending Q2 arrival of its PT-CMZ50 laser projector, a compact ultra-short throw debuted at ISE Barcelona targeted at hybrid work environments in corporate and education, as well as museums.
Available in black or white, this 3LCD projector utilizes 0.64-inch LCD panels with WUXGA (1920x1200) resolution, along with a laser light source that delivers 5,200 ISO lumens with a life of 20,000 hours in Normal mode, or 24,000 hours in Eco. A new high-efficiency optical engine is said to improve watts-per-lumen efficiency by about 25% over comparable lamp-based short-throw models, and there are no maintenance requirements for either the light engine or filter for the 20,000-hour rated life of the unit.
The fixed zoom projector has a throw ratio of 0.235:1, includes powered focus, and can project an image size between 80 and 120 inches diagonal. Critically, it supports 21:9 2560x1080 and 27:9 3240x1080 signals, widescreen options that accommodate emerging video conferencing formats such as Microsoft Teams Front Row. The CMZ50 installs easily from the ceiling or using optional wall mounts, including Panasonic's ET-WBC100, a new lightweight wall-mount system shipped partially preassembled for easy installation and simple and easy adjustments.
