Write a ReviewThis is an amazing projector when it comes to image quality and brightness! You can watch HD broadcasts with all curtains wide open. Perfect for sports events too. We had to live without the projector for about a month and tried out several flat screen TV's during that time - nothing compared or even got close. SONY and Aquous all faded in the comparison.
Any Problems: A ballast burned out after 6 months of use and left us stranded for 5 weeks during warranty repair!
This is a great projector for high ambient light environments. Looks awesome on a 116" wide screen with 720P material. It is actually 768 pixels high by 1280 wide, so perfect match for PC WXGA. 720P video can also be displayed pixel for pixel with small dark bands top and bottom unless you want to stretch to fill). So keep that in mind when you size your screen for either mostly PC presentations 15x9) or mostly HD video (16x9). I mostly use it with 15:9 screens for the full 768x1280 raster.
The image quality and brightness are excellent for what this projector costs.
Any Problems: Despite the claimed specification, the DLP chips used in these projectors are 15:9 and crop the image by default. This can be adjusted for in the menu system without noticeable loss in quality, but the memory functions leave something to be desired. Recalling the desired settings each time it is powered on can be a difficult for inexperienced operators.
