Severtson Screens has announced a new screen material designed as an alternative to standard ambient light rejection (ALR) screens. Their new high contrast grey screen material (HCNC) is made of high performance PVC and has a lower cost compared to ALR screen options while rejecting 70% of ambient light. It is designed for medium-to-high ambient light environments and high output projectors.
HCNC is a 0.8 gain material on axis. It supports 4K and higher resolutions and increases black levels, shadow detail, and color saturation. The material is 0.381 millimeters thick and has a maximum seamless height of 92.5 inches. It's available with 0.5 millimeter micro perforations for acoustic transparency or as a non-perforated surface.
The screen material is available in six different residential and commercial projection screen applications. Two motorized screen solutions, the In-Ceiling Tab Tension series (ST) and On-wall/Ceiling Tab Tension series (GT), support screens up to a maximum diagonal of 133 inches in 16:9 aspect ratio. For fixed-frame projection screens using Severtson's rod tensioning system, HCNC is available in all standard sizes of the Impressions series (IF) and Curved Frame series (CF), and with screens up to a maximum diagonal of 175 inches in 16:9 aspect ratio with the Deluxe series (DF) and Thin Bezel series (TF).
