I have had mine for two years and I love it. It works great!!!!! It is the perfect size and very versitle for my needs. As a teacher, my students love the projects I can show them with it.
Any Problems: None.
Bought the Sony VPL-CS4 two years ago, mainly for use in the classroom. The lamp-timer is about 300 hrs now. It gave me excellent performance in that job, in combination with my lap-top pc. No problems whatsoever, ready go even for dummies. Even with TL-lamps in the classroom on, I have a good enough picture. Although a dimmed light-situation gives better results of course! The Sony VPL-CS4 is also used by us as home-cinema. With all the lights in the house off, it gives a bright and clear picture on a 2,10 meter wide screen. We often watch movies this way. Naturally You mustn't go and sit right in front of the screen. We take about 2 metres distance. During a national scoutscamp in the Netherlands we even projected 16-9 movies on a 3 metres wide screen in a tent, with good results. But best results are in the classroom! Next beamer will be of much higer ansi lumen and more pixels, to have more satisfaction on the home-theater front.
Any Problems: The main-cable is on the front, wich is very unwieldy. The protection of the connector inputs is done by a rubber flap. This is a clumsy attachment. I lost it several times.
In use sice feb 2002 now 1000 hrs and still good never had any problems , looking now to replace lamp one of these days and clean lenses, litle bit of dust (no smokers environment) Would swop for more powerfull unit (>2000 ansilumens) eventually since I have superlarge screen over 10 foot diag ( 3.50m diag)
Any Problems: none so far
Imagens claras e bem definidas, além de nitidez em vídeo e RGB
Any Problems: äs vezes um certo zunido dentro (como se fosse um mosquito) instantes antes de ligar a lâmpada.
Recently I have bought this product from my friend, well I want to get a operation manual for this product and driver to plug in my computer, OR can you explain me how I go about the setting up procedures thanks
Our company try to buy one of these SONY VPL-CS4 for three times. First time there is a problem with the software when you use the augmentation on-image tool, and the equipment hangs-out. Second the plastic carcass is broken due to the weakness of plastic and bad mounting. Third the same as second. After the third device wrong, we decide to change to SONY VPL-CS5.
Any Problems: Plastic damage. Carcass is broken on mounting. (twice times). Bad function on ampliation software tool, resulting on hanging the equipment (no function any of the keys, including the ON-STAND BY button.
I thought this would be a good projector because of the brand but it let me down greatly. Not a true brightness rating
Any Problems: Overheating, lamp and fan noise problems
