Fifteen years ago (mid 90s), in New Zealand, it was the most sophisticated projector available. Back then projectors were insanely expensive. I used one of these to study vision-guided behaviour in jumping spiders, showing them tiny projected images of computer generated prey that had been tweaked one way or another. It was totally overkill for the task, but found the occasional use in movie nights.
Any Problems: At some point, a few years after I started using the projector, coloured horizontal lines started to overlay the image. It was as if lines of pixels from an individual LCD element had been knocked out. The problem gradually got worse.
I had a lot of fun by putting movie or videogames on it.
Any Problems: I have a problem : some vertical and horizontal colored lines appears now. I hope someone can tell me what I can do about that. It is too late now to repair it? Thanks.
This was my first LCD video projector. I bought it used for around $1000, and was very happy with it. It was not particularly compact (by today's standards) but had good features, including power lens shift and power zoom. Just wish I could get a replacement lamp.
