I'm amazed how much brighter and sharper this seems compare to other 4 projectors I've owned. Even in well lot rooms. The very small diameter fan noise I'm estimating at 40-45db. And it is true that the fan never shuts off which is a deal killer for ceiling mounts unless you can put in some sort of kill switch on the wall or elsewhere. ( there is no power switch on the machine. Maybe a rotary on off like some lamps or a small one inch extender with a switch would work). It projects a perfect image on the wall from a normal office conference or dining table height. I may try to replace the internal fans with external ones as I've done with many noisy devices. May not look clean but this fan sound is annoying on all projectors. Slightly worse on this one though. Not a deal killer IMO. Just the only flaw. Ps this projector blows away my newer led Favi 3T. I can read the computer menu when trying to start my movies from the laptop. And the USB stick on the 3T shows all movies but sound is delayed within minutes and that's a deal killer for wife free setup. Older Viewsonic etc is better.
Any Problems: None. Bought it used in 2015 for $70 off of eBay ($40 plus $30 for shipping).
ViewSonic PJ250 is a knock off of the Olympus Vp-1 Projector, bulb replacement is much cheaper too. I found as cheap as $61.00 2000 hrs.The Olympus boosts 3000 hrs.$168.00 Dont let the 1000 Lumen value throw you this thing packs a real punch!I think it rivals 2500's.Beats my older 1400 lumens by a mile.Looks great in well lit rooms. excellent video, easy plug and play. Find em cheap on ebay.
Any Problems: The Fan does not turn off, even after it indicates the unit is cool...unless you unplug it,this is true with the 3 I own, weird. Height adjustment peg 1(on the bottom)were broke on 2 out of 3 I brought.
