Elfin NPA front

XGIMI continues to expand their projector offerings with the portable Elfin Smart LED Projector. The Elfin joins the releases of the Horizon and Horizon Pro to round out their 2021 projector line. It separates itself from XGIMI's previous tall rectangular designs—the MoGo, MoGo Pro, MoGo Pro+, and Halo—with a squat low profile that is only 1.9 inches high. It's more reminiscent of the now-discontinued Z6 Polar.

The Elfin uses the 0.33-inch DMD DLP pico chipset and has a native 1080p (1920x1080) resolution. Its LED light source is rated for 600-800 ANSI lumens and a lifetime of up to 30,000 hours. The projector accepts resolution up to 4K that is then downconverted and shown at 1080p.

The fixed-lens 1.2:1 throw ratio projector uses automatic vertical and horizontal keystone correction and auto focus to adjust the image whenever it is moved. The Elfin also incorporates technology found in the new Horizon series that will sense the size of the available display area and fill the image space automatically. It will also avoid obstacles like plants and wall outlets, adjusting the image size around them.

Installed is the Android TV 10.0 streaming platform with wireless dual-band connectivity, and the Elfin supports screen mirroring via Airplay and XGIMI Assistant. Additional source inputs include HDMI 2.0, USB 2.0, and Bluetooth 5.0. The projector has two 3-watt Harman/Kardon speakers and a headphone out jack.

The total size of the Elfin Smart LED Projector is 1.9 x 7.5 x 7.6 inches (HWD) and it weighs just under 2 pounds. The Elfin is shipping and should be available now or soon for $649 from Amazon or the XGIMI online store.
