Comment text appears below:'ve put your finger directly on the essential issue between the LS100 and the 5040UB. It is a question of convenience vs. performance and only you can determine which of those things are more important to you. I am a theater guy, so my bias would always be toward the 5040UB in this comparison. It sounds like a ceiling mount may be required, and that is a bit of work at the outset, but it will pay you back in spades in 4K-enhanced image quality and the larger 135" image. If your first row is 13 feet, that is 1.3x the screen width on a 135" screen, which is ideal for a lot of folks. 120" might be a bit too small. And another personal bias -- I think of lamp replacements as an advantage because they bring the projector back to maximum light output. A laser will slowly degrade over its life and there is nothing you can do about it. Of course, there is no additional expense with the laser, but if you are going to the trouble of setting up an outstanding high performance home theater, is an additional $300 every year or two to keep it in top shape really that much of a burden? People see this trade off differently of course, and the only one who knows which direction is right for you is you.
