Everyone is talking about Juan and how happy he makes people. My jaded soul's first response is "It's an ad for LG." But still, it should not detract from the happiness that video artists can bring in so many ways when they get creative with projectors and help the art of 3D projection mapping to evolve. That is the core of the viral success of this ad.

These special glasses developed at the University of Oxford, use two cameras and an infrared projector to detect nearby objects. They use a gyroscope, a compass, and a GPS to help orient the wearer. The Images that are created through this data are then projected on transparent OLEDs. Yhe hardest part for any innovator is to have his or her creation reach the public. Hopefully this one will be put on the fast track.

The Penbook combines pen paper and digital.It takes hand-written input using a digital pen on real paper that is augmented with a projection screen and could easily redefine how we interact with documents. In this video you can see it at work in a medical records capacity.more
