Oh how I wish I could have seen this live. It took place last month in Geneva. Participants were invited to be part of an experiment in video projection mapping. The objective was to avoid the typical architectural mapping cliches and to extend video projection with stroboscopes.

Christie Digital is rapidly becoming synonymous with some of the most creative projection mapping displays we've seen. This one can be described with one word--enchanting.

Studying the human anatomy in a classroom can be excruciatingly dull. I wish I could turn back the clock, return to my hopeless high school and college biology classes and infuse them with a little 3D projection mapping. When the body's systems come alive the impression is a lasting one.

There is some great stuff coming out of St Petersburg. This is the second 3D projection mapping example I've seen in the last couple of days produced by Russia's Illuminarium3000. It is not simply that I was drawn to their idea of creating an architectural form out of a human face;it is how ably they convey the truths about the masks we wear and the nature of the human psyche through a very impressive projection mapping installation.

Further proof that projection mapping is making inroads and impact in the world of theater production, this clip from The Satirikon Theater's "Romeo and Juliette" is from 2012. Four Christie projectors were utilized in the mapping process for this event. It is clear that projection mapping enhances every mood and enables a kind of interaction previously impossible on stage. It seems as though projection mapping might ultimately redefine the role of technology and digital artistry in theater

The projection mapping techniques used in the launch of the Jaguar LX failed to grab me until midway with the creators definitely saving the best for last. The music is compelling and the timing superb but dare I say that it might be a tad overstimulating? I sound like the emperor who told Mozart there were "too many notes."

It is curious how a 3D projector mapping shrubs and small trees results in visual art so ....natural. This projection mapping shown at Digital Life 2012 in the Romaeuropa Festival was like watching a dream reveal itself. My home is surrounded by forest and I enjoyed the projection artists portray a day's first light in a futuristic way that changed my perception of space.
