This wonderful Urbanscreen.com projection mapping production was sent by an architect friend of mine who tried to explain to me the meaning of parallax as it pertains to this video. Watch as the projected stripes bend the building's facade.

Everyone is talking about Juan and how happy he makes people. My jaded soul's first response is "It's an ad for LG." But still, it should not detract from the happiness that video artists can bring in so many ways when they get creative with projectors and help the art of 3D projection mapping to evolve. That is the core of the viral success of this ad.

When lamp free projectors were on the horizon, many of us who are involved with projectors began to speculate just how their existence might change things. I hope to see more of these festivals all over the world. The Screen City Festival is taking place later this month (October 25th – 27th 2013.) in Stavanger/Sandnes Norway. The whole concept comes from an attempt to study the moving image presented in public spaces, on the city`s facades, shop windows and urban venues in order take Stavanger out of its urban context through the vehicle of media art.more

A large 3D projection mapping installation in Europe that occurs every other Fall, this award winning production by URBANSCREEN 'COHERENT STATES', was featured in the Lichtsicht Biennale as it is known, in 2011/12. 120 meters long and 15 meters high the largest salt works in Western Europe is transformed into a huge projection surface for this projection mapping event and showcase for what we fans know is a most exciting emerging art form.

This blend, in my view only enriches art because by blending bodies and technology we create a hybrid entity that allows us to reach new heights for communicating ideas. What we are losing verbally we are gaining visually.more

This example of creative projection combines a few of my favorite things: Star Wars,a pico projector and a birthday cake. Which element is the most unlikely? The pico projector of course! Nevertheless, a wonderful cake maker dad with a penchant for electronics pulled it off and projected Princess Leia out of an R2D2 cake with a Netbook on the outside running VGA to a Microvision Show WX on the inside.more
