Video Contest with Interactive Technology Prizes
Whenever I see the word “interactive” my droopy eyelids open wide. This is likely spurred by my interest in interactive classroom projectors and how they will make interactive whiteboards superfluous in classrooms already using them and open the door of interactivity to classrooms who cannot afford the interactive whiteboards. We’ll be reviewing several interactive projectors in the weeks ahead in addition to the reviews already posted on the Dell S300wi and the Epson Brightlink.
But I digress. AVermedia caught my eye when they announced their interactive classroom video contest. Teachers are asked to create a two minute or shorter video “commercial” showing how AVermedia classroom technology products have helped or could help in their classroom.
I applaud AVerMedia’s marketing team for coming up with this one. They are offering $18,800 in cash and AVerMedia prizes for the top three videos, but just think about what they are getting in return: precious market intelligence, promotional video footage for (among other places) their Facebook and YouTube pages, as well as the chance to bask in the glory of giving back. I mention these things with great respect because in my book, producing good products requires a smart team on every floor of the building.
So help AVermedia help your classroom. Start with those kids who stare out the window-- in my experience they've been a good bet for creative ventures. There may be a budding director in your midst who could help you score some great 21st Century classroom tools.The contest ends October 15, 2010.
