NEC Display Solutions Introduces Portable, 3,000-Lumen LCD Projector for the Education Market

Press Release  |  Jun 19, 2007

VT700 Projects Clear, Crisp Images in High-Ambient Lighting Conditions, Boasts Enhanced Connectivity

CHICAGO --(Business Wire)-- Jun. 19, 2007-- NEC Display Solutions of America, Inc., a leading provider of innovative LCD flat panel displays, professional grade plasmas and projectors, and integrated display solutions, today introduced a new 3,000-lumen projector targeted mainly to the education market. The portable VT700 digital projector boasts a 1024 x 768 native resolution (XGA) with automatic keystone correction, quick start-up and shut-down, connectivity flexibility, including DVI-I input, five-watt speaker and a three-year limited warranty.

The VT700 is an extension of the NEC VT Series of projectors and is being displayed for the first time at InfoComm, the professional audio-visual industry's leading trade show, (NEC Display Booth No. 4609) on June 19-21, 2007, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.

"NEC researched projector requirements for users in the fields of education and business, and found that top concerns include image quality/brightness, connectivity, affordability, and reliability. The VT700 was designed to exceed all of these end-user expectations," said Bob Guentner, Product Manager, Projectors at NEC Display Solutions. "The VT700 is an easy-to-use, affordable projector with high brightness so images can easily be viewed - even in rooms with high-ambient lighting conditions. The high brightness accommodates most applications, including classrooms, conference facilities and meeting rooms."

The VT700's wall-color correction technology enables accurate colors to be projected onto whiteboards, blackboards and colored walls. Automatic vertical keystone correction instantly projects a square image even when the model is set up at a steep offset angle to the screen.

The projector also includes plug-and-play setup and operation, versatile color-coded connections and Autosense(TM), which automatically synchronizes the projector with computer signals. The VT700 comes with enhanced connectivity. Its flexible input panel accommodates a wide range of computers and video sources, including DVI-I.

Along with a powerful five-watt speaker, the VT700 includes variable audio-out, which enables the remote control to adjust the volume of self-powered external speakers connected to the projector. The VT700 also incorporates a number of built-in methods to extend the life of the projector and decrease its total cost of ownership. NEC's Eco-Mode(TM) Technology increases lamp life by up to 50 percent (The VT700 has a lamp life of up to 3,000 hours).

Availability and Warranty
The VT700 projector will begin shipping in August. The projector comes standard with a three-year limited warranty, including the first year with InstaCare(TM) (repair and return in three business days or next business day exchange).
