SHARP EXPANDS PROFESSIONAL PROJECTOR SUITE WITH LIGHTWEIGHT UNITS DESIGNED FOR CORPORATE AND EDUCATION

Press Release  |  Jun 19, 2007

New design with smaller chassis and enhanced connectivity

ANAHEIM, Calif., June 19, 2007 – Combining high brightness with outstanding performance and a full feature set in a compact, space-saving casing, Sharp's Conference / Classroom Series PG-F261X and PG-F211X projectors are ideal for corporate and educational customers. The portable projectors feature Texas Instruments® DDR* DLP® technology for high image quality (2200:1 contrast ratio), as well as XGA native resolution that is ideal for any educational or meeting room setting. The series features built-in DVI-I/HDCP (High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) for a secure, virtually noise-free digital connection and RS-232C connectivity so IT support departments can remotely check projector lamp life or provide operational support.

"Teachers, business professionals and corporate presenters are on the move more than ever, and need the ability to deliver presentations from any location," said Bruce Pollack, associate director of marketing, Professional Display Division, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. "The new PG-F261X and PG-F211X projectors maintain the latest in imaging technology and easy-to-use functionality in a portable and affordable package."

Sophisticated Image Quality
The DLP projectors feature high brightness ranging from 2600 ANSI Lumens (PG-F261X) to 2300 ANSI Lumens (PG-F211X) for a clear picture in virtually any lighting condition. For superior color accuracy, both models incorporate a Condenser Lens Optical System that creates rich black tones and sharp on-screen images. A 3x speed 4-segment color wheel optimizes white level and brightness to help ensure that all projected images are uniform.

Ease-of-Use
The PG-F261X and PG-F211X have advanced features that make them easy to use in virtually any business or education application. The on-screen guide and "help" function ensure simple setup and operation. An advanced picture mode pre-sets the projector to recall preferred settings for multiple users automatically. A wireless remote includes full wireless mouse control when a USB cable is connected between the projector and a PC or when used with the optional AN-MR2 Remote IR Receiver. The remote also includes a built-in spot light function and on-screen pointer to help during presentations. With the Direct Power Off feature, users can immediately unplug the projector and remove it from a location. For a comfortable environment, a Front Exhaust prevents the disturbance of air being blown toward audiences.

The projectors weigh less than seven pounds and can be ceiling mounted (for permanent installations) or operated from a table-top or AV cart. For "portable" use, they can be moved easily from classroom to lecture hall or boardroom to home office.

They offer HDTV/DTV compatibility for use with current and future video technologies as well as extensive connectivity. Inputs are provided for a DVI-I analog/digital source with HDCP compliance, two RGB or component sources, S-video, composite video and stereo audio. Outputs include stereo variable audio line-out ("VAO") and RGB monitor loop-through. Both models additionally feature an RS-232C port, and the requisite RS-232C control adapter ships with the product.

Low Total Cost of Ownership
This conference/classroom series maintains an advanced feature set at an affordable price point. A low power "eco" mode extends the projectors' lamp life up to approximately 3000 hours and reduces fan noise (29dB) for quiet, economical operation. The projectors also offer theft prevention measures, including "key code activation" to prevent unauthorized operation and the availability of an ultra-heavy-duty security cable kit for use with Sharp® ceiling-mounting systems.

Both models are backed by a two-year parts and labor limited warranty including two years of Sharp's industry-leading 24-hour turnaround "ER" Express Repair support, excluding the lamp; warranty on the user-replaceable projection lamp is 90 days.
