Gefen Introduces HDMI v1.3 Solutions

CHATSWORTH, CA – Connectivity solutions provider Gefen is pleased to announce its support of the upgraded HDMI v1.3 format, presently on schedule to be incorporated into four new products.

Next generation models of Gefen's 3x1 HDMI Switcher and 4x1 HDMI Switcher support the capabilities and functionality of the expanded HDMI format. Both deliver the ability to connect either three or four high definition audio/video sources to one HDMI display for plug and play system integration. Users select which source they want to view using the IR remote or the front panel switch. High definition video in resolutions to 1080p with multi-channel digital audio are switched for each source.

Upgraded signal splitting solutions from Gefen that support HDMI v1.3 include the 1:4 HDMI v1.3 Splitter, which delivers four high definition audio/video signals at the same time using a single HDMI source, such as a DVD player or set-top box.

The Gefen 2:4 HDMI v1.3 Splitter offers dual functionality, offering an easy method of connecting two sources to four displays. Users can switch between both sources and deliver the selected source to four display simultaneously. High definition resolutions are supported up to 1080p.

All four of Gefen's new HDMI v1.3 solutions are HDCP-compliant and deliver a robust method of signal distribution while maintaining signal quality and integrity.

Gefen expects to begin shipping the new solutions throughout Q4 of 2007.
