Sharp Creates the All-In-One LCD Projector Solution
Notevision6 – Designed For Both Portable And “Fixed” Installation Use
LOS
ANGELES, August 10, 1999 – Sharp Electronics Corp., the world leader in LCD
technology, displays the Notevision6 (XG-NV6XU), designed to perform in both
‘stationary' conference room applications, as well as for portable use. The
Notevision6, which delivers an astounding 2200 ANSI lumens, includes
exceptionally high image quality, optional lenses and the comprehensive
"PresenterPAK" feature set – all the necessary tools to meet any
presentation need.
The
Notevision6, with a native XGA (1024x768) resolution, offers exceptional
compatibility with a wide range of data and video signals. The unit is
compatible with NTSC, PAL, SECAM, and DTV/HDTV video signals and, through
Sharp's Advanced ImageACE resizing, can automatically adjust to handle images
up to UXGA resolutions and various Macintosh and electronic workstation data
signals. Sharp also has available optional telephoto and wide-angle zoom lenses
for the Notevision6 that give users increased installation flexibility.
"Notevision6
offers a feature set that is unmatched – 2200 ANSI lumen brightness,
lightweight, and quick setup; no other projector packs so many features along
with exemplary image quality," said Jerry Ganguzza, senior marketing manager,
Sharp LCD Products Group. "No other projector, installed or portable, has such
a winning combination."
The
Notevision6 is equipped with Sharp's PresenterPAK™, a collection of features
that gives mobile presenters a versatile projector with an easy and quick setup,
simple image adjustment and enhanced presentation options.
Easy
and Quick Setup
Offering
easy operation for even the first-time user, Sharp's exclusive PresenterPAK
features a friendly graphical user interface (GUI) menu screen that is
icon-based, color coded and uses common terminology rather than technical
jargon. Computer connectors are color-coded blue, making setup a snap for users
who choose to use cables to connect to a PC. Users can completely bypass cables
by using Sharp's IrCOM to transfer images directly to the projector from a
laptop or a compatible IrTranP-equipped device.
Simple
Image Adjustment
A
number of image-adjustment features, both automatic and manual, allow a
presenter to tune the image to ensure the best-looking presentations. Sharp's
autoSYNC automatically adjusts computer images without having to access the
projector's menu system, and Advanced ImageACE Resizing automatically adjusts
different source resolutions to match the projector's native resolution.
One-touch gamma correction can adjust the color shifts that arise from using
different image sources during a presentation with the press of a button.
Digital keystone correction removes an effect that may cause projected images to
appear trapezoidal, and unlike optical correction, the technique squares the
edges of an image while maintaining brightness and image quality.
Enhanced
Presentations
Because
the PresenterPAK has built many presentation tools into the projector, a user
has a variety of options to enhance presentations; it also allows
sales/marketing executives to customize the projector to display their
company's logo during startup and allows users to manipulate images during
presentations with digital enlargement and freeze capabilities.
The
Notevision6 is available now through Sharp's authorized dealer network at a
list price of $12,995. The projector is backed by a three-year parts and limited
labor warranty, including Sharp's "ER" Service, a 24-hour turnaround
express repair program.
Sharp
offers a full line of projectors, monitors and professional video equipment for
purchase, lease or rental through its national network of authorized dealers.
