Optoma’s New HD8200 Home Theater Projector Delivers Enhanced Image Processing and New Technologies & Features to Meet the Most Demanding Custom Installations
New Features Designed To Increase Ease of Installation
“Optoma continues to lead the projector market by offering next-generation video processing performance and smooth playback in our new projector that will redefine the home theater viewing experience,” said Jon Grodem, Optoma’s director of product and marketing. “Our installer and dealers are going to love the innovations we’ve made to help them deliver the best possible solution for their clients.”
Engineered for the most demanding home theater enthusiasts and for the professionals who install it, the HD8200 combines other state-of-the-art technologies and features within a sleek, elegant design. Incorporating Texas Instruments’ latest, smaller version of its DLP DarkChip3 DMD chipset along with BrilliantColor™ technology, the HD8200 offers an improved 20,000:1 DynamicBlack™ contrast ratio to ensure true-to-life color accuracy. The HD8200 is also the first DLP-based projector to employ Pixelworks’ PW9800 co-processor with DNX® MotionEngine™ technology. Using proprietary MEMC (Motion Estimation and Motion Compensation) algorithms to significantly enhance the quality of the video delivered, the PW9800 compensates for motion artifacts, often referred to as “judder,” in high-resolution digital video content thus ensuring smooth playback. Combined with Optoma’s PureMotion Technology for advanced image processing, and delivering a maximum brightness of 1,300 ANSI lumens, the HD8200 is sure to bring out the best quality in both film and video source materials.
The HD8200 also incorporates a host of features to help installation professionals simplify the installation process. The projector’s center lens placement, coupled with Optoma’s PureShift technology, gives installers greater installation options by allowing the image to be shifted vertically and horizontally, while keeping the entire image in the optical sweet spot, thus improving uniformity for the entire image.
The HD8200 is also ISFccc (Imaging Science Foundation Custom Calibration Configuration) certifiable, which allows trained professionals to optimize the projector for its viewing environment.
A perfect fit for any home entertainment environment, the HD8200 offers easy connectivity to most devices, including high definition DVD players, gaming systems, satellite, personal computers and cable, with two HDMI v1.3 with Deep Color inputs and DVI w/HDCP, S-Video, component video RS-232, and +12V trigger and IR receiver.
Lastly, the projector incorporates more efficient cooling technologies keeping the unit cool and whisper quiet during operation.
