Proxima Is Now Shipping the Pro AV 9400 SXGA, 2300 Lumen Data & Video LCD Projector

Press Release  |  Sep 8, 1999

San Diego, CA - September 8, 1999 -- Proxima Corporation, a global leader in the multimedia projection industry, announced today that its Pro AV 9400, the first SXGA projector with a PanelLink™ DFP (digital flat panel) digital-to-digital connection, is now shipping. The Pro AV 9400 provides the industry's cleanest, most artifact-free images, with this state of the art digital technology; and is the ideal fixed installation projector for conference rooms, education and training facilities, control rooms and entertainment venues.

"Proxima is redefining projection for the Pro AV - integrated system - market" states Janné Fielding, Pro AV product line manager. "The Pro AV 9400 continues a series of projectors that make Proxima the preferred projection solution for integrated systems."

In addition to the advantages of the DFP connection, the Pro AV 9400 provides native SXGA (1280 x 1024) resolution, while handling all computer signals up to UXGA (1600 x 1280) with Proxima's dynamic Fit-to-View™ scaling technology. For added flexibility, and as a true Pro AV product, the 9400 accepts 3, 4, and 5-wire input (RGsB, RGBS and RGBHV). The Pro AV 9400 also accepts all popular video standards including NTSC, PAL, SECAM, S-Video, composite video, component video (Y/C) and HDTV. In addition, integrated video line doubling delivers exceptional video quality.

The Pro AV's impressive 2300 ANSI lumens of brightness and outstanding 100:1 ANSI contrast ratio provide bright and beautiful images, perfect for virtually any application. This 1.8" polysilicon SXGA LCD projector displays brilliant images in both data and video modes.

The Pro AV 9400 has unmatched integration versatility. RS-232 control capability integrates easily with AMX/Panja and Crestron, the most popular AV control systems. The power lens shift system allows vertical adjustment from +/- 12 degrees, fully keystone corrected. The selection of optional lenses includes a zoom, a wide angle fixed, a long throw fixed, and (available Q4 1999) a wide angle zoom lens. In addition to being the answer to fixed installations, the Pro AV 9400 is rugged enough for virtually any rental environment, including double stacking for large-venue IMAG (Image Magnification) applications.

"Proxima's Pro AV 9400 introduces a better systems integration solution for professional audiovisual designers and integrators," said Stuart Schaffer, Proxima's vice president of marketing. "Flexibility, control and unmatched brightness makes the Pro AV 9400 an outstanding choice and further solidifies Proxima's position as the preferred projection solution for integrated systems. "

The Pro AV9400 is available now, with a MSRP of $24,999, and can be purchased from any authorized Proxima reseller. To locate a reseller, please contact Proxima at 858-457-5500 or check out the company's website at http://www.proxima.com/site.
