Mitsubishi Presentation Products Announces a Three-In-One Ultra Portable LCD Projector

CYPRESS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 15, 1999 -- Mitsubishi Presentation Products, creator of the industry's broadest line of award-winning projection and conference room display products, Monday announced a new concept in LCD projector products.

For the first time, customers are able to select the set of features that best represents their projector needs and have them incorporated into a new, ultra portable chassis.

The Better Choices Series from Mitsubishi includes three, robust feature suites designed for custom installation into a lightweight, seven pound chassis. The S50, X50 and X70 will be available in February for $5,995, $6,995 and $7,995 respectively.

"Until now, the varying needs concerning resolution, brightness, and departmental budgets had always made standardization of projectors a challenge for organizations," said James Chan, Mitsubishi's product manager for projectors.

"We believe that even with the proliferation of personal projectors, the flexibility of standardization need not be compromised. One simple product line using the same lamp, the same carrying case, and the same remote control allows the organization to standardize on product and support functions.

Three Rich Feature Sets

To fit the greatest number of application-needs matrices, the Better Choices Series is available in three categories, the Value Choice for the champion in price performance value overall, the Super Choice for the best price performance value in XGA projection, and the Performance Choice for uncompromised performance and the richest feature set found in any seven pound ultra-portable.

Each of the three option sets has matching collections of Mitsubishi's performance-driven technologies including a new, patented color accuracy algorithm.

Color Accuracy -- For the first time in any LCD projector, precise color representations of single colors as well as the capability of individual adjustments to the full six-color RGB, CYM color palette and white balance settings are possible.

CineView(TM) Video Line Doubler -- A built-in 2D Y/C separation line doubler with the most advance algorithms enables the lightweight units to display beautifully smooth video.

Point-'n-Zoom Digital Magnification -- The Better Choices Series allows presenters to select and enlarge areas of the display while the zoom feature enlarges the selected area to full screen size.

Picture-in-Picture -- To make the most of any presentation and add significant pizazz, the high-performance X70 from the Better Choices Series is equipped with Mitsubishi's popular picture-in-picture feature. Any two input sourced images, may be displayed active simultaneously.
