MITSUBISHI DITIGAL ELECTRONICS AMERICA INTRODUCES EX200U, EX240U PORTABLE PROJECTORS TARGETING COST-CONSCIOUS CUSTOMERS
Projectors Designed for Boardrooms or K-12 Classrooms
"It's important that everyone's dollar goes a little farther these days," said Wayne Kozuki, product manager for Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America's Presentation Products Division. "With these two new projectors, the high-quality performance and superior technology that Mitsubishi is known for is now more affordable."
Even though these new projectors are categorized as entry level in Mitsubishi's product line, each projector features a six-segment color wheel (red, blue, green, white, yellow and cyan) to produce impressively rich and accurate colors, and are designed and built using Texas Instruments' DLP® technology and BrilliantColorT for superior color performance.
Mitsubishi's EX200U weighs only 5.3 pounds; the EX240U weighs only 5.7 pounds, so both projectors are easily portable from room to room, with a direct power off function that eliminates power-down time and allows presenters to make quick exits. Each projector has a substantial 4000* hour lamp life, which reduces overall cost of ownership, meaning fewer replacements over time, saving time and money.
Both offer a filter-free engine with a convenient top-loading lamp to make installation and lamp replacement simple and easy. Mitsubishi also offers a one-year limited warranty on its lamps, making the projectors even more cost-effective to own in the long run while giving users peace of mind.
Each projector provides a monitor loop through and RS-232 interface for flexible installation options as well as variable audio out so users can adjust a presenter's volume through external speakers. They also feature a reinforced anti-theft security bar for security-conscious users and offer closed captioning from a supported source. With the touch of a button, the built-in decoder transforms words into subtitles projected on the screen, an important function for hearing-impaired students and meeting attendees.
The EX240U offers RJ-45 and integrated Crestron RoomView® support for simple plug-and-play connectivity as well as HDMIT for high-definition video sources. The projector is also 3D-ready when users input and display their 3D content and watch the display with optional DLP Link-compatible 3D glasses.
Mitsubishi's EX200U and EX240U are environmentally friendly with an energy-efficient, long lamp life, digital user manuals and recycled paper in printed materials and packaging cartons. These projectors also consume less than one watt of power when in low stand-by mode.
"These new low-cost models add an extra dimension to our line of education and small-to-medium-sized business projectors," said James Chan, senior director of product marketing, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America's Presentation Products Division. "We now offer even more choices designed to meet our customers' projection needs."
Suggested Pricing, Availability, Warranty
Mitsubishi offers government, education and non-profit discount pricing for its projectors through its network of authorized Mitsubishi dealers. The EX200U is currently available at $699 and the EX240U will be available next month, selling at a price too low to commit to at press time. Each projector comes with Mitsubishi's three-year limited warranty on parts and labor, and a generous one-year limited warranty on the lamp. Like all Mitsubishi data projectors, the new EX240U and EX200U are covered by the Express Replacement Assistance (ERA) Program, a comprehensive nationwide service that offers next business-day replacement for down units that are under warranty.
