Sanyo Projectors Benefit The Classroom And Lecture Hall With Innovative New ProductsNew products include 3D capable Projectors

Further, our process is driven with an understanding of the budget pressures that educational institutions face, so our product development takes into account both the short-term acquisition cost and the long-term operating cost of each product we introduce. As one example, we are now offering widescreen projectors at no price premium in comparison to our standard 4:3 models.”
New SANYO products targeted to the educational market include projectors with 3D capability, short throw projectors and mounting systems that reduce the distance from projector to screen for maximum installation flexibility, and other products that create budget-effective solutions for classrooms, lecture halls and auditoriums. New 3D projectors open a wide range of possibilities for immersive display of educational material that can produce a higher level of engagement in students, with 3D teaching material being used now in fields that include geology, anatomy, biology and astronomy among others.
Ultra Short Throw Projectors and Unique Mounting Solutions
Among SANYO’s new products are two ultra short-focus projectors with 3D capability, housed in very compact chassis about half the size of conventional short-focus projectors. The PDG-DWL2500 has WXGA resolution (1280x800; 16:10 aspect ratio) with 2,500 lumens of brightness, and the PDG-DXL2000 has XGA resolution (1024x768; 4:3 aspect ratio), producing 2,000 lumens.
Both projectors can operate at a very short distance from the display screen or wall surface. The PDG-DWL2500 is able to create an 80-inch image with the projector only 12.6 inches from the screen, and the PDG-DXL2000 requires only a 15.1-inch distance for an 80-inch image. Fully enabled for large screen display of 3D material, both projectors use the Frame Sequential Display Format to display 3D, which works in conjunction with Active Shutter 3D glasses to rapidly alternate display between the right and left eyes.
The unique requirements for projector mounting in the classroom are addressed in SANYO’s MT-EDU101 and MT-EDU102 audio mounts. These mounts can be used with any short-throw projector and incorporate an integral audio system with a 50-watt amplifier and two powerful 25-watt two-way speakers. Between the two models, users have the ability to place projectors as close as 7 inches from the wall, up to a distance of 67 inches.
Wide Aspect Ratio Projectors
In the education market, demand for wide aspect ratio projectors has been continually growing, and according to analysis by Future Source, by 2012 about 30 percent of commercial sales will be in Wide aspect ratio projectors. SANYO has been anticipating this trend in its product development and planning, and this is evident with the wide aspect ratio projectors on display ISTE. In total, five new Wide aspect ratio models have been recently introduced. The PLC-HF10000, PDG-DHT8000L, PLC-WM5500 and PLC-WM4500 are all suitable for large venues needing high brightness and the PDG-DWL2500 and PDG-WL2500 are new short-throw projectors that will feature the Wide aspect ratio format.
New Technology Leads to Lower Cost, Reduced Maintenance and Greater Reliability With optical efficiency 40% greater than conventional projectors, SANYO’s projectors that use their new Optical Engine use inorganic liquid crystal panels, which are combined with new heat dissipation and cooling technologies that minimize the effects of heat on the optical components - resulting in higher reliability and durability. Maintenance costs are kept low through SANYO’s Active Maintenance Filter (AMF) system, which extends the replacement interval of its filter cartridge to 10,000 hours. Rather than individual filters, each projector uses an AMF cartridge that contains a filter roll equivalent to 10 filters, advancing automatically as needed without requiring user attention.
These and other SANYO products targeted for the educational market are on display in Booth 1242 International Society for Technology in Education show at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado, from June 27 to June 30.
