SumITup Advantage Program Provides 21st Century Classroom Technology For Educators

DOVER, NJ – SEPTEMBER 27, 2010 — Teachers and administrators continue to seek creative ways to build an engaging and interactive classroom by integrating technology. By developing a visually stimulating lesson plan, teachers can provide exciting ways for students to learn and build self-esteem and success in the classroom. Casio America, Inc., a leader in the consumer electronics industry, and Ergotron, Inc, a recognized mounting and mobility manufacturer, are proud to announce a new partnership in the SumITup Advantage Program being offered through CDW.

Casio’s partnership with Ergotron’s SumITup Advantage Program, provides qualified educational institutions that are purchasing laptops, LCD’s or projectors through CDW, the ability to receive without charge the Ergotron TeachWell® Digital Platform and a complimentary Casio XJ-A140 GREEN SLIM Projector.

By joining forces, Ergotron and Casio have created a unique, mobile educational experience for educators and administrators. Teachers can now deliver content from anywhere in the classroom, replacing desks, podiums and AV carts. Ergotron’s TeachWell LCD or Laptop unit consolidates all the essential technology tools like the Casio XJ-A140 GREEN SLIM Projector, a laptop or tablet PC, keyboard and mouse, and more on to one, stable platform. TeachWell’s small footprint easily rolls through aisles, doors and cramped media areas while the height-adjustment platform moves the keyboard, display and worksurface in one simple motion, while also providing instructor wellness as a desk enhancement for administrative work.

“Casio’s partnership with Ergotron demonstrates our dedication to enhancing education in the classroom through technology,” said Frank Romeo, vice president of Casio’s Business Projector Division. “The GREEN SLIM Projector displays superior color and brightness while also providing school systems with a cost-effective solution in a compact, highly functional package.”

Mounted on the TeachWell Digital Platform worksurface, the Casio XJ-A140 GREEN SLIM Projector works efficiently to produce the vibrant visual displays for the classroom. The GREEN SLIM model features a new mercury-free light source that combines LED and laser light so there’s no lamp replacement. The XJ-A140 will eliminate the costs typically associated with replacing mercury lamps, providing up to 20,000 hours of use – 16 years of worry-free operation at seven hours per day for 180 days per school year. The savings associated with the long-life light source utilized in the XJ-A140 will allow for school districts to invest in additional equipment to enhance student’s education. Casio’s GREEN SLIM Projector is virtually maintenance-free which saves time, money and the environment and is a perfect solution for managing tight school budgets.

GREEN SLIM Projectors are available in a diverse lineup, including several models with native WXGA resolution at 1280 x 800 pixels (16:10) and additional USB-enabled models that can project without a PC or communicate wirelessly with PCs. USB-enabled GREEN SLIM Projectors, using an optional wireless adapter, can be wirelessly connected with up to 32 computers with up to four computers displayed simultaneously.
