Barco expands most silent projection range with an 8,000 lumens unit optimized for rental and staging
Early 2010, Barco launched the RLM-W6 as its first Barco Elements three-chip DLP projector in a single-chip DLP price range. It offers a top-end image quality along with an environmentally conscious profile, by being ten times more silent and 33% less energy-consuming than competing products. As an extension of the RLM family, the RLM-W8 continues these themes, while adding more features that suit rental and staging environments.
“The market responded overwhelmingly positive to the RLM-W6. To better serve rental and staging applications, we decided to launch the RLM-W8. So we kept what made the W6 successful, and added some attractive features to the W8. This includes an increase in light output and contrast, and both warping and blending features. This allows customers to use the RLM-W8 to project onto any kind of surface, as a single unit or combined in a fleet for one composite image free of disturbances,” explains Carl Rijsbrack, Director Product & Solutions at Barco.
While Barco's RLM-W8 projector is primarily designed for the rental and staging market, it shares all features that make the RLM family a great fit into fixed installations with its smaller cousin. This renders the RLM-W8 an attractive three-chip DLP alternative to the top-end brightness projectors in the single-chip DLPTM range, for environments that need 8,000 lumens of brightness and three-chip DLP's superior image quality.
