NEC Technologies Introduces New Series of Ultra Portable Projectors Featuring One-Touch Set-Up
New Projectors Easy to Use, High Performance, Unbeatable Value Rounds-Out NEC Technologies’ Portable Projector Line
Itasca, Ill., February 15, 2000 -- NEC Technologies, Inc. today announced the introduction of the industry's easiest-to-use ultra portable projectors, the new LCD-based MultiSync® VT Series. Through the inclusion of exclusive AutoSense™ auto adjusting technology, the VT440™ and VT540™ offer mainstream presenters automatic set-up, while packing in high-performance advancements, including the best video quality in its class, all at an affordable price.
Whether it's on the road or in a conference room, the VT series is a simple, flexible option for projector users serving market segments such as small and mid-size businesses, Fortune 1000 companies, educational institutions (K-12 and college level), and local, state and federal government agencies. Professionals in capacities ranging from marketing and sales to management and finance are expected to benefit from the introduction of the VT Series projectors.
The VT440 produces 1,100 ANSI lumens of brightness and SVGA native resolution while the VT540 offers 1,000 ANSI lumens of brightness and XGA native resolution. The VT Series rounds out NEC Technologies' already broad MultiSync portable projector offering, which includes the Go!™ Series LT84™ and LT140™ notebook projectors and the MT40™ Series portable/fixed installation projectors. All three projector families are backed by unmatched local and international service programs.
"With the introduction of the new VT Series projectors, we are positioned to fill the gap in the growing ultra portable projector market with an easy-to-use product line that is light, bright and priced right," said Bob Hana, vice president for the Visual Systems Division at NEC Technologies. "The VT series reiterates our commitment to customers as the continued manufacturer of choice for all their visual presentation needs - both today and tomorrow." Simplicity Made Possible Through Advanced Technology From the first-time user to the expert, the use of projection equipment is becoming increasingly mainstream and required more often than ever by presenting professionals whom are faced with tight budget restrictions. "As a result, there is a growing demand for projectors that offer both simplicity and performance at an affordable price," said Bob Guentner, product marketing manager for the Visual Systems Division at NEC Technologies. "The VT Series meets those needs, enabling a broad range of users to cost-effectively deliver professional-looking presentations while on the road or in the office." Guentner added that because the VT Series is compatible with a wide range of computer and video devices, the worry of product obsolescence is virtually eliminated, which is of particular importance as the industry moves toward digital technology.
The new VT Series projectors incorporate an array of exclusive attributes that "clearly" separate them from the competition. AutoSense Technology delivers near perfect images by automatically synchronizing and adjusting the projector to incoming Video, S-Video, RGB, YcbCr Component and HDTV computer and video signals. This ultimately delivers maximum presentation effectiveness and avoids wasting valuable presentation time. In addition, since the success of any projector ultimately lies in its image quality, through an intelligent pixel blending system called Advanced AccuBlend™ Technology, the most accurate low- and high-resolution scaled data and video images are now obtainable.
Exceptional video quality is achievable with the VT Series projectors through NEC Technologies' new proprietary video capability, code-named Advanced Video Circuitry (AVC). AVC offers realistic video display by providing improved color, depth and video accuracy. "The VT series is the first projector to incorporate AVC for outstanding video performance comparable to high-end home theater projection -- and suitable for any business video application, from embedded video clips to DVD movies," explained Guentner.
Complete Service and Support Program
The VT Series is backed by NEC Technologies' complete InstaCare®, InstaCare XpressSM and TravelCareSM warranty programs that exceed the level of service and support today's professionals have come to expect from their presentation solutions providers. Two years of InstaCare coverage comes standard with each projector, giving users the assurance of 24-hour replacement and delivery to and from the customer in both the United States and Canada or 72-hour repair and return service. When time matters most, InstaCare Xpress, provides customers with a "next available flight" replacement option. Finally, TravelCare allows any MultiSync VT Series customer to receive warranty service on their projector when traveling internationally, regardless of where the projector was originally purchased.
Pricing and Availability
The MultiSync VT Series projectors will begin shipping in March and are available through NEC Technologies' nationwide network of both Professional AV and PC channel partners. The suggested retail price for the new projectors is $4,495 for the VT440 and $6,495 for the VT540.
