SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 17, 2000-- Proxima(R) Corp., the global leader in multimedia presentation and conferencing solutions, announced today the addition of two new products to its comprehensive line of affordable portable projectors, the Proxima UltraLight(TM) LX2 and Proxima UltraLight(TM) LS2.

Uncompromising Performance

Proxima's Ultralight LX2 provides uncompromising performance in the office or on the road with an impressive 1200 ANSI lumens of brightness, true XGA (1024 x 768) resolution, 8.6 pounds, dazzling video quality and plug-and-play compatibility with all popular computers. Digital keystone correction displays a square image wherever the projector is placed, and the motorized 1.3:1 zoom and focus offers flexibility. The magnesium alloy cabinet is lightweight yet rugged, perfect for any road warrior. For conference rooms, the RS-232 control offers easy integration with control systems.

Affordability is key with the Proxima UltraLight LS2, which packs full-sized features into a compact product. At just 8.6 pounds with digital keystone correction and motorized zoom, this projector presents a perfect image almost anywhere. The 1200 ANSI lumens of brightness allow lights-on presentations, while the SVGA (800 x 600) resolution and XGA (1024 x 768) to VGA (640 x 480) scaling capability supports full-screen images from any computer. Product features also include a tough magnesium alloy cabinet and RS-232 control for easy system integration.

Price and Availability

The UltraLight LX2 and UltraLight LS2 are scheduled for general availability in North America, Latin America and Europe in Q2 2000 through Proxima's worldwide network of VARs, major distributors and resellers. The anticipated street price for the UltraLight LX2 is US$5,199; the UltraLight LS2 anticipated street price is US$3,799.

The comprehensive line of Proxima UltraLight projectors also includes:

-- UltraLight LX1, an award-winning all-in-one XGA projector with 800 lumens that has received honors for its affordable price, light weight at 8.1 pounds, image stability and uniformity, excellent focus and contrast, and outstanding remote control. Anticipated street price is just under US$4,999.

-- UltraLight LS1 is a lightweight model designed for use by mobile professionals with high, 700-lumen image quality and easy set-up and use. "Powered to go places," this Proxima projector is offered at an anticipated street price of US$3,399.

-- UltraLight SV1+, a feature-rich, 700 ANSI lumen, native SVGA projector for the value-conscious mobile presenter, has an anticipated street price of just US$2,999. The lightweight 8.1 pound product now includes as standard a laser remote with mouse control, plus the additional connectivity of monitor out and audio line out.
