Optoma Introduces the Q300 Mirrorboard for More Affordable Classroom Interactivity

Press Release  |  Jun 14, 2011

Touch screen uses existing computers and projectors
for a more engaging learning environment

FREMONT, Calif. | June 13, 2011 | Making the interactive classroom an even more affordable reality, Optoma, the leading brand of DLP projectors throughout the North and South America, has introduced the Q300 MirrorBoard, a portable, touch screen display that connects wirelessly to any computer, giving teachers complete control over their computer from anywhere in the classroom and creating a more engaging learning environment. The MirrorBoard, which comes with a full version of Qwizdom’s WizTeach interactive software (a $299 value), will have a targeted end user price of $499 and will be available in July.

“The MirrorBoard is a tremendous solution for bringing interactivity to the classroom,” said Jon Grodem, Optoma’s director of product and marketing. “It frees up teachers to work the Optoma Q300 MirrorBoard classroom and engage their students one to one. And it turns any projector interactive, which eliminates the need for expensive white boards.”

The Q300 MirrorBoard is a 10.1 inch high brightness touch screen device that uses a wireless USB connection to any computer and mirrors whatever is on the computer’s display. A battery-less, pressure-sensitive pen delivers complete control over all applications, so users can do anything remotely that they might do when sitting at the computer.
