INCREASED BRIGHTNESS, ENHANCED CONNECTIVITY, AND NEW ECO+ MODE HIGHLIGHT OPTOMA’S NEW TW/TX635-3D
New Education/ Corporate Projectors Deliver Performance on a Budget
FREMONT, Calif. | June 5, 2012 | Delivering on its longstanding goal of providing top tier performance for budget-conscious schools, Optoma, the best-selling brand of DLP projectors in the Americas, has introduced the TW635-3D and TX635-3D, two new 3500 ANSI lumen projectors with a comprehensive I/O suite and wireless capabilities, and Eco+, a suite of features that reduces power consumption by up to 30 percent, while increasing lamp life by up to 50 percent. Available now, the widescreen WXGA TW635-3D is available for $949, while the XGA resolution TX635-3D carries a price of $849.
“The TW635-3D and TX635-3D are designed with educators in mind.” said Jon Grodem, Optoma’s senior director of product and marketing. “Incorporating all of the mainstream features that classroom applications demand, these two models are aimed at schools that integrate technology heavily into their curriculum and teaching methods and want the most current capabilities and features.”
Both TW635-3D and TX635-3D are equipped with a full complement of I/O ports, including HDMI, two VGA-in, VGA-out, composite video, two audio-in, audio-out, RJ45, RS-232, and USB Type A and B, ensuring that you will never be left without a way to connect to a broad range of sources, including Blu-ray players, PCs, tablets, set top boxes, game consoles, camcorders and more. Both the TW635-3D and TX635-3D also offer wireless capabilities via an accessory dongle, and Crestron RoomView® allows for streamlined IT administration with network command and control features. To answer to the emerging need of 3D education, both projectors are 3D-PC ready and can display 3D content from 3D-capable computers.
Also new to both the TW635-3D and TX635-3D is Optoma’s Eco+ mode, which evaluates the brightness level of the content and dynamically reduces the lamp intensity to match the scene. The result is great looking content with superb black levels, substantially reduced power consumption and a reduced carbon footprint, all while increasing lamp life. Another energy saving improvement of the Eco+ suite is an update to the familiar AV Mute feature. Traditionally, when selected, AV Mute simply blanks/mutes the projected image while the lamp continues to burn at full intensity. With the new Eco+ AV Mute, lamp intensity is reduced by up to 80%, thereby reducing power consumption by up to 70% with the additional benefit of prolonged lamp life. Both models also offer Quick Resume, a time and energy saving feature that enables the projector to be restarted instantly after it has been powered off.
Both projectors deliver a robust 3500 lumens brightness with a 10,000:1 contrast ratio. The built-in 10-watt speaker system provides ample audio support, and an audio-out port allows for easy connection to an external sound system. At less than 5 lbs each, both new projectors are easily transported wherever you need them, and the included padded carrying case offers all the protection you’ll need. A full-featured IR remote with mouse and laser pointer is also included as standard equipment, and both come with Optoma’s 3-Year Optoma Express Replacement Service warranty, with the lamp covered for 1 year.
