Optoma Projectors Gain TAA Certification for Government Market

FREMONT, Calif. | June 13, 2012 | Optoma, the best-selling brand of DLP projectors in the Americas, has introduced Trade Act Agreement (TAA)-compliance status for five of its projectors. TAA certification is required to be eligible for placement on the General Services Administration pricing schedule for government equipment procurement, and this distinction can be granted only to products that are manufactured in countries that have been certified as honoring US and partner countries’ international intellectual property and trade policies
The five Optoma models that are TAA certified are the TL50W-GOV, TW762-GOV, TX762-GOV, TW615-GOV and TX615-GOV. “TAA Certification is an important advantage when participating in the government market” said Jon Grodem, Optoma’s senior director for product and marketing. “Our products have always been competitive in regards to performance in different verticals, and now TAA certification positions our products in front of an entirely new set of customers.”
The TL50W-GOV represents one of Optoma’s newest additions: A portable LED-powered, 500 LED Lumen, lamp-free projector with virtually no maintenance needed. Optoma’s LED light sources typically last 20,000 hours while enjoying strong brightness and color performance with minimal loss over their lifetime. TL50W-GOV offers a host of features that make it not only convenient, but also welcoming to use. Start up time is virtually eliminated with Instant On/Off, and an Auto Keystone feature automatically detects the projection environment and adjusts the image accordingly. A mini USB WiFi Adapter (included) allows wireless connectivity with iPhones and Android-based Smartphones, as well as WiFi-capable tablets and PCs. And the built-in MS Office Viewer, combined with the 2GB onboard storage capacity or the SD card slot that supports up to 32GB memory or the USB flash drive capability, make the TL50W-GOV a truly stand-alone presentation platform without needing a PC.
The WXGA resolution TW762-GOV and its XGA counterpart, the TX762-GOV, are high-powered, feature-rich projectors for those seeking extensive flexibility and low cost of ownership, even in the most demanding settings. Both deliver an ultra-bright 4000 ANSI lumens with a 3,000:1 contrast ratio for easy-to-read text and bright, vivid images – even in 3D. Both are built with an 8-watt speaker and extensive connection options, including RS-232 and RJ45 ports for control over a network. The TW615-GOV and TX615-GOV are two more high-powered, 3D-capable projectors. Both deliver 3500 ANSI lumens with a 3,000:1 contrast ratio that delivers high performance. Featuring a built-in 10-watt speaker system and wired network management, the TW615-GOV and TX615-GOV are both equipped with the latest color and image processing technologies from Texas Instruments.
In addition to a comprehensive suite of I/O connection, the two projectors can be wirelessly connected to WiFi devices with an optional WiFi VGA dongle which is powered through the VGA port, eliminating the need to use the power adaptor.
