Mitsubishi Electronics America, Inc. X400 Brings Fixed-Installation Brightness to Portable Desktop LCD Projector
Mitsubishi Announces New Flagship XGA Projector, 14 Pounds With 3,000 ANSI Lumens
CYPRESS, Calif., June 12, 2000 - Mitsubishi Presentation Products Division, creator of the industry's first 13-pound LCD-based projector to break the 2,000 ANSI Lumen mark, Monday introduced the Mitsubishi X400, their new flagship XGA projector.
The X400 shines 3,000 ANSI lumens bright and weighs just 14 pounds. With a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $12,995, the new X400 is expected to redefine the benchmark brightness of the desktop portable category in LCD Projectors.
"Our X300 is currently a favorite of presenters because of its superior colors in both high brightness computer displays and movie-quality video," said James Chan, Mitsubishi's senior product manager for projectors.
"To continue that legacy meant we had to come up with another perfect projector that was significantly enhanced with features that our customers wanted. We sent our engineers a customer wish list and they came back with the X400."
Presenters who struggle with the uncertainties of lighting conditions in multi-function presentation rooms will now be able to depend on the new Mitsubishi X400 for perfect presentations without any compromises on brightness, connectivity, or portability.
Facilities managers or media professionals who operate multiple presentation venues in various organizations can also rely on the X400 for bright and clear displays of data or video in classrooms or conference rooms.
Mitsubishi X400 Advantages
ColorView(TM) Natural Color Matrix -- This Mitsubishi Electric patented technology works like a graphic equalizer for color adjustments. Directly accessible from the user-friendly menus of the X400, ColorView allows users a full six-color RGB, CYM palette with colors that are individually adjustable at the level of tint and saturation, allowing the X400 to bring out accurate colors that are rich and realistic.
Digital Video Interface -- The X400 supports the most popular digital interface standard to deliver the clearest and sharpest pictures ever. These pictures will be completely free from any interference or noise previously caused by the analog signal conversion processes.
CineView(TM) Video Line Doubler -- Continuing Mitsubishi's tradition of displays with great video, Mitsubishi uses CineView to play movie-quality videos with rich colors and realistic flesh tones while maintaining a smooth motion display in action sequences.
The new Mitsubishi X400 uses three 1.3-inch poly-silicon active matrix LCD panels with Micro Lens Array that produces 1,024 x 768 XGA resolution. Maximum resolution of 1,280 x 1,024 SXGA is achieved through Mitsubishi's seamless compression routine, allowing for full compatibility with various workstation displays.
The X400 has a horizontal scanning range of 15 to 92 kHz, and vertical frequency of 50 to 85 Hz to make it compatible with most PC or Macintosh(R) computers, desktop or laptop. Images can be reversed for rear-projection or ceiling mounted display, and optional lenses will be supported for applications with unusual projection distance requirements.
Just like all other Mitsubishi LCD projectors, an RS-232C serial port is available to support seamless integration with popular control systems. And in addition to NTSC, PAL, and SECAM video standards, the X400 supports these signals from regular RCA composite inputs, or S-VHS and RGB-converted component video inputs.
The new Mitsubishi X400 is backed by the industry's most comprehensive worry-free warranty that provides three years of Emergency Roadside Assistance (ERA), with coverage not only for parts and labor, but also for 24-48 hour replacement of defective units.
