Barco introduces 14K lumens projector – with standard video over IP capabilities – for entertainment venues and visitor attractions
“With the launch of our new RLM-W14 projector, we’re not only expanding the brightness spectrum of our three-chip DLP RLM family – now ranging from 6,000 up to 14,500 lumens – but we’re also meeting customer demands for brighter projectors in a compact and cost-effective form factor,” comments Richard Marples, Strategic Market Director Venues & Hospitality at Barco. “Featuring a fresh projector design with an improved lens mount, the RLM-W14 also offers Active Stereo 3D, extended warping and blending, and comes with video over a single Cat 5 cable functionalities (HDBaseTTM) as standard. It achieves its 14,500 lumens with twin 465W NSH lamps which – next to being very affordable – offer long lifetime. Thanks to these features, it’s perfectly suited for fixed installation in museums, theaters, houses of worship, hotels, lecture halls, or conference auditoriums, as well as for the rental market.”
Video over a single Cat 5 cable
Supporting point-to-point transmission of video signals – up to WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) at 60 Hz – from a source converter to a projector over a single Cat 5 cable, the RLM-W14’s integrated HDBaseTTM technology eliminates the need for multiple cables and connectors, leading to greater simplicity and lower installation costs. It covers signal distribution over a distance of more than 70 meters. Barco is gradually integrating HDBaseTTM technology into its projector fleet to satisfy growing market demand.
Impressive image quality
Thanks to the reliable DLP technology from Texas Instruments, the high-brightness RLM-W14 generates crisp and stable images with rich contrast. And thanks to its three-chip architecture – capable of producing no less than 35 trillion colors – it also delivers sensational colors. Moreover, the RLM-W14 features a DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) simulated mode that guarantees accurate grayscales and highly detailed images – key requirements for use in medical training and education applications.
New design
The RLM-W14 features a stylish product design that reduces noise and minimizes power consumption. Not only does the projector look good, it’s also fully ruggedized to be at home with life on the road. What’s more, its TLD lenses are also compatible with Barco’s RLM-W12 projector, HDX and HDF projector ranges, so that users who already own a Barco projector won’t need to replace their lens fleet. It’s also standard equipped with BarcoLink technology, which allows native WUXGA @ 60Hz signals to be transmitted between the Barco image processors and projectors via a single BNC cable, making signal distribution truly simple, reliable and cost-effective. The RLM-W14 operates on a voltage of 110V - 240V, so that users who are based in the US or Japan won’t require an extra adaptor to use it.
Simple control
The RLM-W14 can be easily controlled in multiple ways: via the new wired or wireless remote control, the projector control app for Android and iOS devices, and the user-friendly Barco Projector Toolset software. This software ensures simple operation and management of all your Barco large-venue projectors via one straightforward tool. And thanks to its lens memory feature, specific settings for image size, lens shift, and the focus of the projector lens can be easily stored and recalled at a later time.
Discover it at EAS
Barco will be showcasing the brand-new RLM-W14 projector at the Euro Attractions Show (EAS), RAI Amsterdam, The Netherlands, from 23 – 25 September. You will find Barco in Hall 7, booth #7321.
