Cineversum Announces its New Generation of BlackWing Projectors with 4K capability and improved 2D and 3D performances
The return of the BlackWings
The BlackWing One, Two and Three mk2015 replace the previous equivalent BlackWing mk2014 models that have been acclaimed and awarded all around the globe, improving the overall performance and picture quality and adding some new functionalities.
The ultra quiet, projector is housed inside a futuristic deep metallic-black ABS plastic chassis designed by the famed French designer Antoine Béon. The design celebrates the concept of speed and precision with an unforgettable futuristic shape reminiscent of the Stealth Fighter; hence, the name BlackWing.
4K projection was obviously the most awaited feature of the new BlackWing Series. The Cineversum engineers have worked very hard to make the BlackWing compatible with most 4K signals, resulting in smoother and more detailed images. The new BlackWing is also able to up-convert and scale 2D HD content to a 4K signal.
3D projection has also been improved. Cineversum will now market two kinds of 3D bundles: the RF Active 3D pack and the Passive 3D pack. There is a also a Limited Edition InfraRed Active 3D pack.
As an important part of the Active 3D solution, the Cineversum 3D active-shutter glasses benefit from the latest ergonomic innovations and technologies. It adopts fast-response liquid crystal lenses to create the best image quality without ghosting wherever you sit, higher brightness, more natural colors and great durability. Weighing only 57 gr (2 oz), its ergonomic design offers optimal comfort for everyone. Recent novelties: they are now rechargeable (via USB) and compatible with polarized screen. The new RF 3D emitter (dongle) allows easy integration in a few seconds time.
Cineversum has also improved its amazing Passive 3D solution. The benefits are numerous. First of all, the passive 3D glasses are lighter (around 10g), less expensive and more comfortable. Besides, the picture quality is spectacularly improved: more brightness, more details and more accurate colours. The spectators feel less dizziness, eye strain and headache than with active 3D solutions. Last but not least, the overall budget is lower than with competitors’ passive 3D solutions thanks to the fact that the Cineversum solution does not require to stack two projectors together.
All in all, the BlackWing mk2015 projectors and the Cineversum Passive 3D Kit are definitely the best compromise on the marketplace for picture quality, brightness/colors, comfort and budget.
Now available also for 3D projection, the 400 Hz Crystal Motion ® algorithm is a frame interpolation method which brings an immersive experience to sport, concerts, TV shows. Picture becomes dramatically realistic and three-dimensional, without motion blur or artifacts.
The 4K interpolation process (only in 2D) and the CMS functions (Color Management System for color calibration) are available on all the three Blackwing One, Two and Three models.
The THX mode, optimized for movie watching in a dedicated dark cinema room is available on BlackWing Two and Three. For the ones who want to push the limits, an Expert Calibration Menu (via RS232) is accessible for the advanced installers of BlackWing Two/Three.
Engineered by Cineversum in Paris, France, every single projector is also carefully tested and hand-calibrated individually by the company’s highly experienced video engineers to their European CRT like tuning standards. The color temperatures and the white field uniformity are optimized to provide very natural picture quality.
By means of superior components, the new BlackWing Series bring up new standards in terms of contrast ratio (up to 150,000:1 on BlackWing Three), black levels and picture quality. Thanks to the new True Cinema Black III process of the BlackWing Two and Three, dark scenes still remain very detailed and balanced, despite the amazing level of contrast.
Installation Versatility
In addition to being a top notch performer, the BlackWing Series are extremely easy to install. The 2x (1.4-2.8:1 throw ratio) makes it compatible with virtually any kind of room. The vertical and horizontal lens shift capability can address any challenging configuration. Zoom, focus and shift are motorized, making installation easier and faster. With the keystone correction, it is child’s play to adjust the projector for the most razor-sharp picture.
For projection on cinemascope screens, and other, the BlackWing projectors can also be easily retrofitted with their proprietary Cine-Twist kit. Thanks to a bespoke motorized anamorphic system, the user will be able to switch from the classic 16:9 aspect ratio to a breathtaking Cinemascope format. The exclusive Cineversum Theatre Mode made this possible.
All three BlackWing mk2015 models are available to order now.

About Cineversum :
Cineversum (www.cineversum.com) initially was conceived as the dedicated consumer brand for famed Belgian video manufacturer Barco. In September 2004, Technic Electronic Conseil (T.E.C.) took over worldwide distribution of Barco’s home theater business, including the Cineversum trademark. T.E.C. is based in the Montmartre district of Paris, France.
Led by French industry pioneer Jean-Claude Younes, who considers himself as projector jeweler, T.E.C. has successfully developed the Cineversum Home Cinema Concept. In close cooperation with partners such as Barco, Cineversum has steadily built a range of cutting-edge video products for the professional home theater market and are distributing them worldwide through a network of specialist distributors.
The BlackWing line, dedicated to the professional A/V installer, was awarded the prestigious Product of the Year 2008 award by Electronic House magazine.
