BARCO Wins Seven Platinum Awards from AV Video/Multimedia Producer Magazine for 2000

High performance display products impress AV Video / Multimedia Producer magazine’s editorial staff and high profile readers

BARCO, a leading manufacturer of video and graphics display technology, is pleased to announce its high performance display solutions have been awarded seven AV Video Platinum Awards for the year 2000. BARCO's large screen LCD and DLPTM projectors, as well as high profile Video Selectors and Enhancers (VSE), were selected by the AV Video / Multimedia Producer editorial staff and its readers to be the most innovative products of the year.

Since 1995, AV Video / Multimedia Producer magazine has annually awarded organizations with the most innovative products in the marketplace. In preparation for developing a nomination list for these awards, the editorial staff spends a full year accumulating information on new and ground-breaking products. This nomination list is sent to more than 9,000 high level producers and managers at Fortune 1000 companies, as well as individuals at corporate, independent, education, medical and government facilities.

BARCO Projection Systems won seven Platinum Awards. Both the BarcoGraphics 6300 DLC (XGA) and BarcoReality 6300 DLC (SXGA) projector were selected AV Video's most innovative products in their specific categories. These compact, high performance tools deliver dynamic and compelling presentations. They offer an unprecedented scope of application posibilities for presenters, speakers and trainers. Superb image quality combined with unmatched flexibility, ease of use and reliability makes these units ideal for integration in boardrooms, training centers and other prominent meeting places.

In the Large Venue (XGA / SXGA) and (SXGA / UXGA) projector categories AV Video's editorial staff and readers gave special recognition to the BarcoGraphics 9300 DLC and BarcoReality 9300 DLC LCD projectors. These units combine extremely high light output with very high resolution to create images with unprecedented sharpness and brilliance. They are ideal for demanding applications in high ambient light conditions such as large screen presentations, rental and staging, process control rooms, as well as simulation and virtual reality centers.

BARCO's Extreme Light Machine (ELM) R12 was awarded the "Outstanding Achievement Award" in the HDTV projector category. BARCO introduced its high performance, high brightness ELM Series projectors at the INFOCOMM International Trade Show in June of 1999. These projectors combine the state-of-the-art Digital Light ProcessingTM technology from Texas Instruments with BARCO's knowledge in mechanics, optics, and electronics design. The extreme brilliance, exceptional video performance and ease-of-use of BARCO's ELM Series make these projectors brilliant solutions for rental, staging, electronic cinema, and other large venue applications.

Finally, BARCO's high quality VSE Series Video Selectors & Enhancers were chosen as the most innovative products in the Up-Converter categories. This latest range of switchers with added features for video enhancement is ideally suited for any projection environment where video quality cannot be compromised, including home theater, presentation and training, as well as broadcast applications.
