BARCO Introduces Compact, High Performance Polysilicon LCD Projection System
BarcoGraphics 6400 DLC offers an unprecedented scope of application possibilities for presenters, speakers and trainers
BARCO, a leading manufacturer of video and graphics display technology, has introduced a new, compact LCD projector for presentation applications: the BarcoGraphics 6400 DLC. Superb picture quality, exceptional flexibility and versatility, and extreme user-friendliness are just three of the features, that make this projector ideal for dynamic and compelling visual presentations.
Superb Picture Quality
Thanks to the new efficient lamp design and the ultimate matching of all optical components in the projector design, the BarcoGraphics 6400 DLC delivers an impressive 3,000 ANSI lumen. "We are excited by the extremely fast evolution in technology and the tremendous performance increase we have made on the 6000 Series platform," said Johan Stockman, Product Group Manager for BARCO's Corporate Product Group.
The BarcoGraphics 6400 DLC incorporates ultra-high aperture ratio 1.8" polysilicon LCD panels with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. This projector displays all sources from VHS video to the latest HDTV formats to high-resolution workstations with resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 pixels. BARCO's patented Pixel Map Processor guarantees very legible characters and the greatest amount of picture detail possible.
The BarcoGraphics 6400 DLC is equipped with BARCO's unique True Color Reproduction (TCR) system for perfect color display and uniformity over the entire screen, as well as perfect color tracking and digital gamma correction. The unit also features BARCO's proprietary TCRPlus processing which reduces noise in the video signal and improves the contrast ratio, producing brilliant images with vibrant colors and amazing color depth. An optional Serial Digital Input (SDI) provides an all-digital path from the input to the projector's LCD panels for unsurpassed digital video image quality.
Exceptional Flexibility and Versatility
The BarcoGraphics 6400 DLC features an impressive array of input signal connections: Video, S-Video, RGB, VGA and Serial Digital Input/Output (SDI/SDO) are available. All input connections are located on the projector's front panel which enables more esthetic cable routing, especially in fixed installations.
To maximize the unit's versatility, it can be equipped with a wide range of easy-to-replace fixed focal and zoom lenses ranging between 0.8 and 7 times the screen width. When used with the (1.4 - 2.0:1) zoom lens, the projector makes an ideal replacement for virtually any existing CRT projector installation. Due to their unique optical design, these lenses allow the unit to work equally well in both On-Axis and Off-Axis positions. In fact, using these zoom lenses the BarcoGraphics 6400 DLC can be installed in a 120% Off-Axis configuration without any keystone correction -- a claim no other competitive projection technology can match. "Thanks to this feature, the projector can be placed higher than the top of the screen or under a table lower than the bottom of the screen, making it ideally suited for high-quality fixed installations," stated Johan Stockman.
Additionally, the BarcoGraphics 6400 DLC has been specially designed to generate the absolute minimum acoustic noise. The low acoustic noise profile avoids unwanted audience distraction - a common complaint with conventional projectors. For applications that require even greater acoustic isolation, BARCO has developed a special Acoustic Cover, which makes noise from the projector virtually inaudible.
Plug & Play
The BarcoGraphics 6400 DLC incorporates a new Auto Image feature, which automatically optimizes all display settings for the incoming source signal. For even higher light output and redundancy, two units can be double stacked without using a stacking frame. Double stacking is facilitated by means of the unit's motorized lens shift. A backlit infrared remote control with Quick Access Keys provides instant access to set-up functions such as: motorized zoom and focus, lens shift, contrast and brightness, as well as other parameters. The BarcoReality 6400 features convergence free set-up, which never requires realignment!
These features make the BarcoGraphics 6400 DLC a powerful presentation tool for boardrooms, training centers, conference rooms, education centers, auditoriums and demo rooms as well as for rental and staging events that demand uncompromising image quality and durability. The unit will be available starting the end of May at a suggested list price of $16,495 without lens. Lenses are sold separately and range from $2,000 - $6,000.
