Press Release  |  Nov 6, 2000

Featured Extra Short-Throw Lens Displays Big Images in Small Rooms

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 6, 2000--InFocus Corp.(R) (NASDAQ:INFS)(OSE:IFC), the worldwide leader in digital projection, introduced today the Proxima UltraLight(R) S520, a five-pound SVGA projector that comes standard with an extra short-throw lens to display large, ultra-crisp images in very tight spaces such as offices or small conference rooms.

Designed for first-time users, the value-priced UltraLight S520 enhances presentations with a zoom lens for flexibility in set-up, LCD technology for photo-realistic images and film-like video, plus 800 lumens of brightness.

"An affordable alternative to overhead transparencies, slides and flipcharts, the Proxima UltraLight S520 opens a whole new world to mobile professionals whose success depends on dynamic presentations on the road or in the office," said Stuart Schaffer, vice president of marketing for InFocus Americas. "The UltraLight S520 addresses specific needs for the entry-level projector buyer with a lightweight design, value pricing and additional features such as a short-throw lens that provides big images for small rooms."

Meeting Market Needs

The affordably-priced Proxima UltraLight S520 offers a host of features in a compact design:

-- Short-throw lens - the extra short-throw lens on the UltraLight S520 allows the projector to display the largest possible image in smaller spaces.
-- Smaller and brighter - the UltraLight S520 weighs in at just five pounds, while 800 ANSI lumens are bright enough for meeting rooms and small conference rooms.
-- Zoom lens - a 1.2:1 zoom and focus offers flexibility in set-up, letting users position the UltraLight S520 where they want it and adjust the image size accordingly.
-- XGA compatibility - the UltraLight S520 SVGA resolution with Fit-to-View(TM) digital scaling of XGA offers compatibility with a wide range of computers.
-- LCD technology - built with .7" polysilicon LCD technology, the UltraLight S520 displays images with brilliant color saturation and brightness uniformity.
-- Connectivity - the UltraLight S520 includes integrated video for connectivity to a DVD player or VCR. The projector comes with a remote control and soft carrying case.

Warranties and Availability

The UltraLight S520 comes with the security of a 90-day (or 500-hour) limited lamp warranty plus two years of free ProXchange(TM) service for overnight projector replacement in the unlikely event that an UltraLight S520 will need repair.
